The law trainees of our law firm on 8 October 2015 took part in this year’s edition of the scientific conference Media – Business – Culture, organised by the University of Gdansk. As part of the session “Media and the market”, they presented problems concerning advertising in modern media.
Dominika Szumała, advocate trainee, gave a presentation on advertising, including comparative advertising, as an act of unfair competition. She compared statutory regulations with the latest court rulings.
Julian Skelnik, advocate in law, made an attempt to reconstruct the statutory definition of permitted product placement, at the same time pointing out its weaknesses. He also discussed the practice of the Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council issuing fines for unauthorised product placement.
