Dr Grażyna Nawrolska has participated in the excavations in Elbląg from the very beginning and has undertaken to make a synthetic study of the results so far. She does not limit herself to presenting the archaeological material, but combines it with information from written sources and results of specialist research. The work presents a wealth of source material, also in an extensive illustrative form, which is extremely important for research into the history of Elblag and the Hanseatic cities in the Middle Ages.
